I probably don't need to remind you about moving your clocks forward by now, but in case you needed the reminder.... SPRING THAT CLOCK FORWARD! Yep, the clocks have moved forward an hour, we're losing an hour of sleep or if you're anything like me, you've got one less hour to spend getting ready! Less time to spend on hair, makeup, skincare, coordinating your outfits, etc. This may totally seem like an exaggeration, but with the time change its still going to be dark in the mornings which means it's definitely going to be harder to wake up to get those beauty routines started. That's why I've come up with a few tips to shorten your beauty routines to get the most sleep and still look great. I can almost guarantee I won't be taking the time to carefully sculpt brows, precisely pack on concealer and foundation or meticulously matching colors for wardrobe ensembles. To help make the adjustment, here's a few tips to help you spring forward, speed up and survive this round of Daylight Saving Time.
#1 Quick Morning Cleanse
Save the full, pampering skincare routine for nighttime. It'll probably help you make the best of your sleep too! Freshen, cleanse, exfoliate and tone in one step with a facial cleansing cloth that pre-loaded with all the cleansing properties as well as the toner and exfoliation. All you have to do is wet it, lather it, wash and rinse.
Here's my favorite option: Mary Kay® Facial Cleansing Cloths
#2 Choose a Moisturizer with MORE
You do know that moisturizers can do more than just hydrate your skin, right? YES, they sure can! There are several on the market that work double or even triple duty to provide several benefits in one step such as sun protection (SPF), skin tone correction, age fighting properties, coverage and of course moisture. One option that's packed with 8 benefits in 1 is Mary Kay CC Cream which is one of my favorite, quick beauty products and is sure to shave off time from your beauty routine. It's usually lightweight (great for the upcoming warmer temperatures) and provides all those benefits in ONE STEP! If all the benefits of a CC Cream isn't needed, you can opt for the moisturizer with fewer benefits such as sun protection, long lasting hydration, defense against free radicals and age fighting properties.
Here are a few of my favorites:
TimeWise® Age Minimize 3D® Day Cream SPF 30 (Normal to Dry Skin Type), TimeWise® Age Minimize 3D® Day Cream SPF 30 (Combination to Oily Skin Type), TimeWise Repair® Volu-Firm® Day Cream SPF 30 (for mature, aging skin)
#3 Style Hair the Night Before or While You Sleep
Wake up with a ready- made hairstyle when you style your hair before bed and simply remove your protective headscarf or bonnet for a free do! OR if your'e going for relaxed waves in your long tresses, braid or plait your hair before bed and in the morning loosen the braid for instant waves. Add anti- humidity or holding spray, lay those edges and you're set!
#4 Add a Pop of Color to Make A Statement
An easy way to incorporate color into this quick, everyday-get- out- the- door in minutes- routine is to add a pop of color on the lips! A bold lip color easily becomes the center of attention and will elevate your look tremendously with little to no effort on your part.
Here's a few lip colors you should definitely be adding to your spring collection:
#5 Set Your Makeup
Setting your makeup is a huge DO! It may not necessarily cut down on your beauty routine, but these few seconds are worth spending with or without the extra hour. A setting spray will definitely help to improve the longevity of your makeup and keep you from needing to re-touching throughout the day. When a makeup meltdown is not an option, give it the staying power to last up to 16 hours. After you've applied your makeup, close eyes and hold bottle 8 to 10 inches from face and mist face 2-4 times in “X” and “T” formations with Mary Kay® Makeup Finishing Spray by Skindinävia
#6 Step Up Your Spring Dresses
Sun dress season is HERE! Well, almost, but finding separates to put together every day can be taxing and take time to locate, let alone coordinating the right look with so many different options. However, if your closet stays stocked with a decent rotation of dresses the only step left is shoes and accessories. You save yourself a lot of hassle and time with less pieces.
#7 Organize Your Closet
This may seem like a huge commitment, but when it's still dark outside and you have to be out the door quick, you'll be glad you made the time commitment in advance. Everyone'd different in how they prefer their closet to be organized, but I usually recommend my clients keep like styles together and organize by color within each style category. This makes it quick and easy to reach for pieces in little time.

#8 Plan Your Look Ahead of Time
This will probably be the most integral piece to your time saving puzzle and add minutes to your beauty sleep. Pull every piece together the night before and lay it out in an area free from lint, pet hair or items that could potentially ruin your clothes with stains; or hang everything on one hanger in the closet including accessories and even that statement lipstick we talked about earlier. You'll be dressed in no time and feel more coordinated and confident because you actually thought everything through when you weren't rushing.
I hope these tips help to Spring you forward into a more confident, less fatigued You! Let's #TalkGlambition What are your thoughts about these tips? Do you see yourself implementing any of them to enjoy a few extra minutes of sleep in the morning?
